Get Right Sports Football Challange 2009

GET RIGHT SPORTS FOOTBALL CHALLANGE (GRSFC)

Providing children between the ages of 8-11, the oppertunity to represent their boroughs positively in a 5-aside football chalange.  This will provide a platform for the youth involved to channel their energy and focus to something that they enjoy.

GRSFC ran through the summer holidays (August 2009) and was a one day event. Student Events UK (SEUK) chose four boroughs in which has negative critisim on the youth society, as SEUK want to build community cohesion and show that everyone can get together and have fun!

The four boroughs were; CROYDON, LAMBETH, LEWISHAM & SOUTHWARK

Firstly each borough competed against their own borough, secondly the winning team represented their borough in which they competed against the other three boroughs and finally it lead to the finals crowning the winning borough

GET RIGHT SPORTS FOOTBALL CHALLANGE aims to;

- Motivate youths involved

- Bring communities together

- Encourage team building

- promote comradeship

- To increase levels of fitness

- Help the youths to identify the difference between bad competion & friendly competion

- To provide youths with a sense of achivement and belonging
